UPGRADING AND MACHINING
Here to aid you every step of the way, American Foundry Group offers complete in-house service, upgrades, and machining, ensuring that you can fully depend on the products you receive. With departments dedicated to upgrading and machining, AFG can deliver castings that meet the diverse needs of its clients.
Our upgrading department takes commercial grade castings and upgrades them to meet a wide range of requirements from ASTM supplementary to ASME Nuclear to NAVSEA military, API, NORSOK, NACE and many more. In our upgrading process, each casting becomes its own, unique part through our system to ensure quality control. AFG's upgrade department is run by skilled craftsmen that have been apprved through several professional organizations, such as ASNT and AWS. AFG has a staff of certified, nondestructive testing inspectors from Level III qualifications down to Level I inspectors in the fields of Radiography, Liquid Penetrant, Magnetic Particle, Ultrasonic and Visual Inspection techniques. Our welding program has qualified welders under ASTM, ASME, NAVSEA, AWS, to name a few.
AFG's finish machining experts give detailed attention to machining castings to the exact specifications needed. AFG can completely service any casting and have it ready to send to your clients. American’s machining capabilities include turning up to 96” VTL, Horizontal Boring (manual and CNC), Vertical Boring, Horizontal Milling, ID, OD and Centerless Grinding. All finished castings are inspected and certified to meet required specifications. AFG also offers light assembly including assembly, packaging, and shipping products thus lightening the load for our clients.
